Commissioned by The Four Seasons Resort in Vail, Colorado as an exciting addition to their reception area. The piece sits on four small clear glass feet, appearing to float on the wooden table that serves as a pedestal.

April conceived of the sculpture as a custom, site-specific commission for the newly built resort. The commission was to create a piece for the main check-in area, so it needed to be eye-catching and energetic to appeal to visitors.

April worked with the client Elizabeth Weiner to conceptualize a tangled, irregularly shaped mass of curly ques and “tentacles.” The oranges, reds, and lemon colors nearly glow in the nuanced light of the room. Together, April and Elizabeth decided that undulating shapes and bright colors would make this piece a favorite of guests and residents alike.
