The Acrobats

The Acrobats

Like dancers floating in space, the subtle forms and hues of this sculpture invite the changing seasons from outside the large windows into this mid-century modern home to play with the viewer.  April evokes tranquility in the space by activating an otherwise unusable corner. Gracefully juxtaposing her opal-colored glass pieces against the hard cement wall, she uses tones in blue and green to create a focal point that grounds the composition of the room and invites the viewer to sit and revel in awe. April’s work is inspired by the inherent qualities of glass as a molten material – by making these abstract sculptures into kinetic pieces that hang, the qualities of the glass are highlighted as it slowly dances in the light, weightless and alluring, capturing our imaginations.
