The Acrobats

Like dancers floating in space the subtle forms and hues of this sculpture invite the changing seasons from outside the large windows into this mid-century modern home to play with the viewer.  April evokes tranquility into the space by activating an otherwise unusable corner. Gracefully juxtaposing her opal colored glass pieces against the hard cement wall, she uses tones in blue and green to creates a focal point that grounds the composition of the room and invites the viewer to sit and revel in awe. April’s work is inspired by the inherent qualities of glass as a molten material – by making these abstract sculptures into kinetic pieces that hang, the qualities of the glass are highlighted as it slowly dances in the light, weightless and alluring, capturing our imaginations.
